I would be a possible. Are the Resorts you are looking at at the high or low end cost wise?
Also I did blue/reds in Italy but not been for 15 years .Are there decent runs at that level where you are thinking of?

A ski Invite used to be a regular thing, and pretty popular. I guess everybody is just holding their breath!

I skiid the Dolomites just before the Italians locked down their towns and can recommend it. Loads of sun, amazing scenery, great snow! 😍

I guess it just needs some brave soul to put up an invite.

The only one I could find quickly was the 2014 trip https://www.outdoorduo.co.uk/picturesview.php?p=1&f=1&t=9248&hp=2

There used to be ski trips put on the site every year. I am certain were you to organise one there would be sufficient people interested.

Welcome Thunderbird (great name!) There was a ski trip organised for I think 7 or 8 years, last one was in 2018, I went several times and it was usually full. Normally went as a group of 10 to 14 and stayed in either a hotel or catered chalet. The issue was usually the cost, trying to find somewhere with excellent skiing for beginners and the proficient in accommodation close to the ski lifts/ nightlife /Town and where ski hire/passes/lessons were reasonable. Quite a big ask. I'm sure the demand is there though. Were you thinking of doing it through a company or organising it all independently?

Hi, I’d be interested in a group trip skiing. I’ve not been skiing long about 6 years but I do love being in the mountains and can get round most blues and reds in good conditions. Love the apres of course.

Hi all, many thanks for all the useful comments. Sounds like there would be some interest. I am thinking a mixed ability group would be good, as then people can chose to ski in smaller, slower groups, or go with faster wizzy people, or have lessons. Sometimes its nice to just amble along and enjoy the scenery. I am a reasonably proficient skier, but very happy to ski with all abilities. I am just testing the water for interest at present, so lots more detail to be considered, but I am thinking of a catered chalet style holiday - always great for value, as wine usually included with evening meals, breakfast and afternoon tea also provided. Can most people go off peak dates?

Hi yes I can go off peak and a catered chalet sounds perfect. I also like the mixed ability idea. How soon would you need to book?

gegeoff2139   on 10/06/20 @ 12:17

Thanks for your response Geoff. I am just starting searching for suitable chalets. Early booking usually means better prices. I think the ideal group size would be around 12. I need to find chalets with single beds, and I guess people need to be happy with sharing a room with one other. As for dates - there are many options but either around 13th Dec or second week of Jan - prices are usually good, and no massive lift queues! I am looking at snow-sure resorts, as one never can guarantee the snow-fall these days. The early season date of 12th or 13th Dec would be the first week of the season, and I am thinking of Les Deux Alps, where there is always skiing up on the Glacier.

after researching possibilities, I have found a great chalet in Val Thorens, which ticks all the boxes. Price would be around £677/person. This includes flights and transfers, and catered chalet with pool.
Should I put an invitation out to test the response?

Thunderbird !   on 11/06/20 @ 6:14

Thunderbird !: That looks like a good price for a fully catered week inc. flights and transfers. Just ski hire and lift pass and yer sorted. Oh yeah, and some 🍺🍷 money 😀
The Three Valleys is a superb ski area. I book skis through https://www.snowbrainer.com, email them beforehand for their best discount voucher code.
Go for it!
