Extreme self isolation in Wales
by Former Site AdminThis weekend I went walking on the Aran ridge south of Bala. Normally on a spring morning I would expect to see circa 5-10 people on the ridge (its not overly frequented at the best of times), On Saturday I saw one person about 2km away on the top of Aran Fawddwy. That was it.
On Sunday I did Caer Caradoc in Shropshire and the difference was amazing. Quite a crowd. Crossing styles without touching them is an interesting exercise, and a skill I need to learn. Family groups kept their distance, but the paths all around were busy.
I hope y'all managed to get out in the sun.

Love that walk. I did it on the Sunday by myself obviously as social distancing. I saw 3 people but apparently the locals were furious that walkers were around at all. Car park blocked off by my return as were all the car parks in the town, in Bala. I guess by now we all have seen how overwhelmed Snowdon was by the volume of visitors on the Saturday. ☹ Roll on happier days. Stay safe everyone.
