Anyone for a Challenge walk in October/November?
by LearnedgentJust putting it out there in case anyone fancies having a go - not for the fainthearted!!
40 Mile challenge walk across the North Yorkshire Moors - the 'Lyke Wake Walk' - to be completed within 24 hours.
Start point is Osmotherley, finish point is Ravenscar.
The route has lots of varied terrain, up high on the moors, 5 miles of disused railway track, a few squidy boggy sections, yomping up the side of the RAF Fylingdales early warning station (under the watchful gaze of MOD Police).
As well as those wanting to actually attempt the walk, there'll be the need of a support vehicle to magically appear at 5 checkpoints along the way, dispensing drinks, snacks, words of encouragement etc etc.
If anyone has a screw or 2 loose and fancies giving it a go, let me know!! - you might even want to turn it into a charity walk!
Many have tried and succeeded (ive done it myself successfully 4 times over the years) and many have failed (i failed on my first attempt).

LeLearnedgentSounds to me like youre saying you'd manage to get to the Lion Inn, but would then have to 'call it a day' whilst toasting your tootsies and supping a large glass next to the open fire🤔
Now that would be cunning plan 😂🍷
