No the links to their website isn't working which could mean they're out of business but you can see some photos and reviews here

The Mind is Willing on 22/11/12 @ 10:36

They aren't out of business but access to their website is often dodgy. I had an email from them a few weeks ago. It is a well-established site and business. I have only stayed on the campsite (about three years ago when I walked the whole trail) but the hostel looked OK. Recent reviews are mixed on tripadvisor though

TCTC on 22/11/12 @ 10:47

That's a relief. Everybody's expectations are varied but on the whole it has good reviews. At least there are some photos to show what the site looks like.

OK folks I can see there is interest. At the moment I am thinking of June as there is already quite a lot going on in May.

Oh and I've found the Deepdale people on Facebook - they are trying to fix their website:

Dating Norfolk Broads, Minty you hot blooded southerner you, Seriously though TC i am interested dates permitting and as for you Minty get checking my walks out.

MiMitch on 23/11/12 @ 15:26

I'm definately interested. Love Wells next to sea, go there every year, always wanted to do the walk but was never able to.

LLLadyeliza (Liz) on 23/11/12 @ 17:23

So pleased that there is interest in this part of the world, thank you everyone. Hopefully people from the Eastern area will join us for a walk too. The Deepdale website is now working. The Granary Group Hostel sleeping up to 19 costs £250 per night (high season weekend) and 2013 dates are filling up already! There are other options if there aren't enough of us - they accept groups of up to 8 in the backpackers - or if some people want to camp (£9 per person night). I'd better go and look seriously at possble dates. Back soon

TCTC on 24/11/12 @ 7:47

How much £250 per night whoops

on 24/11/12 @ 7:53

awww i get it now £250 for all 19 people doh

Tinks on 24/11/12 @ 7:58

LOL Tinkerbell £13.15 a night each if we manage to make up a group of 19.... Dorm room in the backpackers is £18 high season so worth booking the Granary if there at least 14, and then we'd have space for people joining the party later on, (which would reduce the price for everyone). But if we go in June it is mid-season so may cost a bit less - am giving highest prices in case we can't get in on a mid-season weekend. Currently 7/8 June is available but I need to go away and see if I can get away that weekend! Not sure if people will commit (show me the money!) this far ahead but Norfolk is popular and places do get booked up in advance.

on 24/11/12 @ 8:53

And for anyone looking for a romantic nook away from the gang there are tipis and yurts on the campsite

on 24/11/12 @ 8:57

Have contacted Deepdale about Weekend of 7th-8th June. To book the Granary (exclusive use) they will need a 20% deposit which will be non-refundable. Currently they are holding it for me till Friday although am going to try and get them to hold on until after the weekend. I need 14 people to say they are going and ideally make payment to me of £30 each as I don't want to be left with a bill for £100 to pay and none of us want to be in a situation where we lose our deposits because someone pulls out. I'll put an invite up tomorrow but could those that are interested let me know if they are in a position to pay up. Thank you

on 26/11/12 @ 12:39

Sorry if this seems a bit rushed but thought it would be nice for us all to be together, but no worries, if we can't get this sorted we can still make individual bookings in the backpackers or for camping so the weekend will still take place.

TCTC on 26/11/12 @ 12:45

Sorry TC it's way too early for me to commit to this - I really need to see what the New Year brings workwise. I would like to do it if my plans fall into place so I think I will need to do an indiviual booking

The Mind is Willing on 26/11/12 @ 12:48

Hi TC I'll be interested in the Granary, I was thinking if they only need 20% deposit now and if 10 people gave you £5 wouldn't that cover the deposit. I'll be happy to pay £5 now and risk losing it, when is the full amount due?

LLLadyeliza (Liz) on 26/11/12 @ 14:32

I've now put this on an invite, understand completely about not being able to commit at this stage, I am the same (usually) Lady E and Minty will be good to see you and thanks for offering deposit, will see what the weekend brings eh?

TCTC on 28/11/12 @ 15:42

Hi i do not mind doing what has been suggested by Ladyeliza, seems a good idea.

Tinks on 29/11/12 @ 2:49

I'd be happy to do that TC

The Mind is Willing on 29/11/12 @ 6:34

Hooray Tilly Get yourself over to the invite and put your name down . Spoke to Deepdale yesterday and they are happy to try and sort out something to suit whenever we are ready. Will come back to this once Christmas is out of the way.

on 04/12/12 @ 5:49

We are indeed able to accommodate your group (up to 14 in total) in twin and three berth cabins on board The Albatros on 7 and 8 June 2013 @ a reduced rate of £25 per person per night incl breakfast.
Kind regards,
Capt Ton Brouwer

on 13/12/12 @ 4:11

Hi all I have an alterbative accomodation option. It is a sailing ship, The Albatross, which is permanently moored next to the quay at Wells next the Sea. The rate is normally £30 a night but as you can see for a group the Captain is offering a rate of £25 B&B. Here is the website - its not brilliant but I have read good reviews and I sent someone on board last weekend to check it out. There is a Dutch chef who serves pancakes for breakfast

http://www.albatros.eu.com/sailing-ships.html

It is also a live music venue!

I would quite like to stay aboard the ship. There is a YHA in Wells for those who don't fancy it, also a campsite down the road. Any thoughts from anyone?

TCTC on 13/12/12 @ 4:25

Interesting. My concern would be space. Doesn't say how many bunks per room orshow any pics. I assume the facilities (toilet & showeres)are unisex?

The Mind is Willing on 13/12/12 @ 12:58

I agree, the website isn't great.

http://www.glavenvalley.co.uk/the-albatros/

There are some pics at the above link. And there are some good comments on tripadvisor (including pics and comments on the facilities!)

To me, it offers something a bit different (and YHA facilities are usually unisex too!). TMiW the captain's email above says two and three berth cabins. According to reviews, dogs are welcome on board (not sure about doofs though loops!!!! ). Am happy to call the Captain to discuss any concerns.

Minty, walking the plank could be interesting. The harbour fills up at high tide but is very low when it goes out, the gangplank could be at a steep angle.....

The Blakeney seals were on Countryfile today

on 16/12/12 @ 16:49

Hi all - any more interest in this weekend 7th-9th June? I've asked the 'definites' and the consensus seems to be in favour of the Deepdale Hostel/camping option. If I can get a few more definites I'll enquire about the group hostel availability again, otherwise it might be wise to book a bed in the main hostel or camping as preferred. Oh and if you are interested, the Blakeney seals are being featured on 'Winter Watch' this week

TCTC on 15/01/13 @ 4:30

Hello, I could be interested in this but need to check dates, will let you know for definite by the end of the week

Hi everyone. The lovely Lady E has given me a nudge on this. We can't have the Deepdale group hostel now as it has been booked. Please see invite for an update on what is available. If you want to go we need to book soon. Am happy to do a booking by the end of this week but I'd like to get a clear picture on definites first.

on 11/02/13 @ 9:20
