ADAlly & DaveAw Ally your post made me smile, see happy people spread happiness 🙂🙂 you're not smug at all 🙂
PDPear Drop (Sarah)I was a bit delayed, took me til 41 and a half to change my life but i now have the new house and new job (and the huge new mortgage :~) - still waiting for the new man and the happiness but I'm certainly a lot stronger and more confident.
Life begins at 41 and a half doesn't have quite the same ring to it does it 😀😀
50s are good Wiggy, just as well really.
JWJW🙂
Hitting 50 changed my life. Joined OD, getting fit and meeting new friends. I have just been speaking to a 19 yr old who thinks she's old. I said how wonderful life is when your my age and I think she thought I was mad. 😀😀
UJUltreia (Jo & Alan)Il look forward to 50 then John just a shame iv still got s few years yet! Lol
WiWiggyYou are mad jo ha ha 🙂
Life begins when you're ready to let go of the past and jump into the future. Sarah's right - happy people do spread happiness and this site is full of them. Thanks to everyone who has helped me to laugh and enjoy the moment. I'm glad I can still be surprised and I can laugh at myself.
Don't wish the years away Wiggy you be old and wrinkly before you know it lol that reminds me of that poem i know but i hadn't better say it because no doubt it'll offend somebody lol
FlForever lostok Forever lost you just put me on a horse without a saddle. What is the poem pleaseeeee ?
MiMitchEverything changed at 40 (well more precisely 39!)🙂 For the better I might add 😉 And it's continuing to change positively too 🙂 Much prefer the person I've become to the younger model 😀
HaHaydnStarted at 50 for me too. Climbed my first mountain at 50 Scafell Pike, joined OD shortly after and met lots of lovely people and done lots of walks. Still waiting for that elusive new man too but enjoying life whilst waiting. 🙂
LLLadyeliza (Liz)Oh yes, definitely 50 for me, its the new 40, 30 or 20, its whatever you want it to be. But celebrate it and not just for one day, @ 50 you can have as many birthday parties as you want. 😀
NiNigelYeah come on FL what's the poem? Most of us know you well enough now not to be offended lol
WiWiggy🙂
My life began when I born & boy what a ride its been 😀 😋
Don't wait for 40 or 50, it is here now 😀
TCTCLol i'll think about it i'm not sure everybody on here does !!!!

FlForever lostAwwww its so nice that peoples life have changed for the better as the years have passed.Getting older doesn't meet growing up
ADAlly & DaveAccording to the press yesterday men take until 43 to finally grow up whereas women typically mature much earlier at age 32! Maybe for us men life begins much later than 40 🙂😋🙂
BJBlue John😀😀 Well BJ I could say that that isn't news to most of us, but last time I made a comment like that I was accused of being sexist......😀😀😀
PDPear Drop (Sarah)Fifty is the new 40🙂 Forty is the new 30🙂 but wow if your 20 your feel like 10!🙂
BMBionic ManI thought it would raise a few smiles, I have to say I've seen some great places travelling mainly in this country in the last 3-4 years, climbed some mountains again & captures some memories on my camera 🙂
BJBlue JohnIm only 21 so I dont really relate to you guys at all but growing older doesnt sound as scary as I once thought 🙂
ScScoutWay to go Ally. 😀
Life began at 50 for me, and what a wonderful year it's been,
TTTerence ( Terry )🙂🙂🙂
Well I'm 60 and yet to grow up, after mountain climbing I'm now hooked on rock climbing, the higher the better.
MMMadMagThis site has obviously done so much for so many people.Brilliant cheers site admin
ADAlly & DaveMy life went to rat shit at 39, your life can change in an instant, but you've got to get out there and that's what this site is all about, her's to the future.🙂
jwjw19Life begins when you make a decision to stop existing & start really living 😀
LMLittle Miss Sunshine (Max)I couldn't agree more LMS 🙂🙂
RaRick and Viv's Adventuresthis is encouraging i agree so much with what the other have said, its also a case of realising one has to be accountable for ones own happiness, not wait to be rescued,be true to oneself ,the key is to be oneself,be proud of your uniqueness rather than being unhappy trying to fit in,im loads happier since i said to the world, actually all i want to do is outdoorsey stuff, its what makes me tick 🙂
SpSpringeralex'Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but dancing in the rain', I like quotes! and absolutely love walking on rainy days 🙂
fS'Summit for a Weekendaday'Love that last quote,very true
ADAlly & Davestill loving being 50, life is like a box of chocolates, just dont eat them all at once.
TTTerence ( Terry )🙂🙂🙂
When it's my birthday and anyone asks me how old I am, I always say I'm another year younger. Your as young as you feel.
MaMariaBeing the old goat...my life began when I met the OD team.....never looked back 🙂🙂
on 05/07/13 @ 16:13you forgot the "radiators ", buddy...🙂
on 06/07/13 @ 17:54Rolling radiators and dry stone walls.....minty"s motto....😀😀
MGM GThe 50's are great! However life begins when you decide to live your life to the full. Don't wait around waiting for things to happen, as the Nike advert says 'JUST DO IT'.
PePeregrinaI'm really glad you are having such a great time Ally - but not sure it's related to any particular age , just the wondrous and unknown twists of exciting ole' life 🙂🙂🙂
on 14/08/13 @ 9:41"to enjoy the future you have to create it"...
CDCarpe Diem!"this is your world, shape it!"....
"in the end it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in those years" (A. Lincoln)...

Life begins when you let go and go with the flo!
As CD quoted "to enjoy the future you have to create it"...
Start by joining in and then strike out with your own invitation! 😀

MoMorningdawn🙂🙂🙂
tmiw
mamark301😋
mark301 - double 😋 😈😈😈
There was something on the radio today, wish I could nb it, but along the lines of 'your never to old to play', it's when you stop playing that you start to feel old. So playing could be anything from watching whatever makes you laugh on TV (Friends 🙂), to well, just doing stupid things now and again, it's healthy 🙂.
fS'Summit for a Weekendaday'That's comforting SfaW cos I'm always doing stupid things, but not necessarily on purpose, now I don't have to provide excuses - bring on the fun!!!😀
mimilvusThat is so true SfaW and I'm the same Milvus.
BlBluerayQueue the weekend and let the fun begin 😀
Good for you Morningdawn.Its a fab site,lovely people.Enjoy!
ADAlly & Dave😈
BlBlueraylife begins whenever you allow it to let you live😀
pApreggy47(Andy)Well,😉 I suppose it did now you make me look back. I had applied for a post as a lecturer in 1980, and by 1983, when I was 40 the job had all settled down nicely. I really enjoyed giving my lectures, some to classes of 30 technical trainees, others to 12 trainee Studio Managers who were mainly women.😋 Some to senior staff. There were lovely moments of amusing exchanges with the class, and I could occasionally get a round of applause for ad lib remarks. My employers recognised that I was dedicated to my work and the planning I put into each session. My colleagues had good working relationships.🙂
cocolinjosephThe only thing is that I didn't realise it was the peak of my career at the time!😮
Od is full of great people some iv met but hope to meet many more😀
pApreggy47(Andy)A new life begins when you join OD, age is irrelevant but then I would say that wouldnt I? 🙂
BJBlue Johnyep, a new life does begin with joining OD... Met a group of fun folk on my first event who put a big smile on my face....It hasnt gone away since!
SpSpringI've met loads more lovely people, tried new things, seen new places. Also made some special friendships Thanks you lot!
