Hi all, well as I thought their is a fair bit of interest in doing this.
Now comes the hard part...... sorting out a date.
My initial thoughts were to do it in July.
I had Sat 12th or Sat 26th in mind for via ferrata
and walk on the Sunday.
I know these dates might not be good for some peeps ☹ (sorry)but we need to start somewere so feedback please.🙂

Hi all, I was aware of Chris's Pirate weekend being the 7th to the 9th of August so I didn't want to put another invite up to clash with that.I really need to keep the following 3 weekends free. So the only date in August for me would be 1st to the 3rd.

Honister yha is the obvious choice being right next door.It all depends on numbers. We have plenty of other choices to work with. Buttermere,Borrowdale Ennerdale and even Blacksail yha's are all possible, Camping, Glamping whatever floats your boat 😋

1st/2nd of August is a free weekend for me too Col 🙂

Some stayed at Honister last Remembrance weekend, and there was no access to the hostel during the day, whereas Borrowdale was open all day so might be more convenient? don't know if that was just cos it was out of season though....

Defo Glenn & Borrowdale is one of my fave YHA's 🙂

Two of us stayed at Keswick YHA and two camped for the last Via Ferrata.

I have checked with honister today and there is only one ticket left for each session on sat 2nd Aug,and 6 for the morning and 8 for the afternoon on the 3rd Aug.They do not run the Classic and the Extreme routes at the same time. Beds and camping spaces are still available at Yha Borrowdale, but with only a max of 8 via ferrata tickets available is it worth putting it up as an invite for these dates??

I'd say yes Colin - 8 places is a nice sized group 🙂

Just checked online booking again and it is still showing 6 places for the 09.00 VF Extreme and 8 for the 15.00 VF Extreme on the 03/08/14. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.If we are going to do it on this weekend then we need to start booking asap.
