Kinder Winter Wonderland with Pete...
by Carpe Diem!So we all traipsed up Kinder,
our leader was Pete,
though we rarely saw 'im,
because of the sleet,
hammering down on our hood-covered scalps,
it felt more like
the bloody Alps.
But hardy we were
as the temperature dropped
and mile by mile,
to the top
we all clopped,
the coldest traipse of this year, without doubt,
the wind was wild
when Ruth did shout,
"Plungin' me drains is me bag tonight!",
as on her life she did shed some light.
A life of drains and plungers galore,
(you really don't wanna know any more!)
For the rest of us,
nice warm baths they beckoned,
to soap our pinkies,
and, within a split second,
to warm our souls
and reflect on a day
that was energising
