I thought you had a medical complaint Jonathan. Weak bleach solution will kill the algae. Dry it out and store in the dark.

Hydration is overrated. Just drink when you are thirsty. You get much of your water requirement from food. Best not to drink water, fish poo and screw in it.

Thanks Doug. Water will never pass my lips again...🙂

col j: that's so helpful Col. Knew I could rely on you. Have bought a juicer and a kg of the magic fruit 😀
anna123: that is so very kind of you Anne..is it clean or hairy? Hate bits everywhere...😋 x

anna123: I lay in Milton last night but today, frankly, I stink. I'll check out Amazon 're tube exploration etc .....thank you x

I lay in Milton last night

Was it paradise lost for him then?

Milton is just weak bleach. 40p a litre from Saibsburys and then you have to dilute it.

I keep my bladder in the freezer after a thorough cleaning 😋

col j: I am flattered, nay whelmed, by your thoughtfulness and innovation. May I humbly offer a tiny shed, which is attached to my flat, as a base for your operation. I have already dumped the remains of my old, decrepit bladder there, for your immediate attention. ?150 seems a wee bit low, I might be interested in your Gold package -please inform. I was a step ahead of you with the ole Imodium and had a box for my tea this evening. Incidentally, this is all very timely as I was recently elected as a minor member of GAB (GB Association of Bladderers) with all of its obvious perks.😋

anna123: you appear, staggeringly, to be losing the focus of my thread...☹
True Blue: thanks ever so much. Sounds like I need one of these kits! 🙂

on 31/03/17 @ 19:39

Lazlo Woodbine: thanks, but you haven't listed the price of Milton elsewhere, for comparison. This us bitterly disappointing. I feel I can't get the ball rolling ...☹

Spray your bite end with antibacterial spray ( ouch) then freeze until you use it next . Easy peasy %uD83D%uDE42

Doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Cheap bleach is about the same strength as Milton. At the end of a walk I put fresh water in the bladder and a little bleach then run it through the mouthpiece. Before a walk tip it out and flush with fresh water. Empty and fill with your water needs for the day.

anna123: ok THIS TIME, your blubbering apology is accepted, though somewhat reluctantly...I can make no promises re the inevitable future misdemeanors

on 01/04/17 @ 15:28

Spring: thanks Suzanne ...I'll give it ago!

on 01/04/17 @ 15:30

col j: we would be delighted to get a bladderer of your distinction on-board. To get the mandatory certificate and cap, yes you will need to attend one of the training sessions which I run weekly in Rekjavik. Including materials and venue the cost is around 2 grand. You'll need to sort your own meals, flights and hotel. I'm thrilled that you're leading the way in this field for OD

Island guy (Jeff).: thanks Jeff...thats really helpful 🙂🙂🙂...hopefully I'll have more success this time round!

Even cheaper. If you have an old phone charger (and who hasn't), strip the output wires and attach each one to a carbon electrode. Put the electrodes in to salt solution and stir. It will make bleach for next to nothing.

I left mine for over a week in a rucksack once and it came out very yellow indeed. It's still yellow but I've cleaned it with steralising solution and I'm still here.

RaRachael234   on 01/04/17 @ 16:49

Rachael 234: Thanks R! I think that's a "what not to do" piece of good advice! 🙂

on 01/04/17 @ 17:36

Lazlo Woodbine: Ha ha ...I'd probably end up with no hair 🤔

on 01/04/17 @ 17:37

col j: hey Col..this is MY manky bladder thread NOT a place for you to fill the gaps in your science education! 😀😋😀MOT

CDCarpe Diem!   on 02/04/17 @ 4:12

Col, Used cooking oil for diesel. Filter it and add it to diesel. Alcohol is incredibly cheap to make but difficult to make taste good.

womble: I was wondering.....!!! Thanks Penny 🙂55
