AUTOSTITCH is a fantastic free application to join panoramic shots together to give the whole panorama. Use the free trial version to do the job, its really easy.
Hope this may be of use to fellow walkers looking fondly back on the shots of their days out this summer.

Without sounding a real photo buff I have used both decent camera and mobile phone camera with comparable results. Any camera will do as the hard work is done by the software. Hope it works for you.
