Indeed, thanks John for a great time with great company. Weather was also better than expected, with no rain. Also just measured up Saturday's walk & it was just short of 18 miles!!
It was brilliant John, feet might recover by this time next month,😀😀 had a great time and great to meet so many nice people.
HaHappyfeetThanks for organising a great weekend. Lovely to meet such fab people. Love the poem as well John, well done!🙂😀😀🙂
BBBrecon BeautyThe 'OD' crew came down to walk the Seven Sisters,
JWJWWent back home with feet full of blisters.
One or two had a bad hair day,
Who were they, not for me to say.
12,14,16 or 18 mile,
Keep going guys, be back in a while.
Visited the Tea room at East Dean,
Alas last years Robin was not to be seen.
We all had a hug with that old tree,
Will he remember us next year? have to wait and see.
Cheers guys for a great weekend,
My love and best wishes I send.

JWJWSaturday's walk...guys if I had said it was 18 miles those that know me well would have then assumed it would be more like 22 miles🙂.
Thought we all did well with some of you going for a sprint finish🙂
Just wanted to say a BIG thank you John for a great weekend. I had a great time with plenty of laughs and it was lovely meeting old and new OD members. Shame the walks were only small though !!! 😉😋🙂
NoNoodlesThanks to everyone for making it yet another great OD experience. Thanks to John for the planing and to Nikki for the driving 🙂
WiWiggyMG - you've competion on Lemon drizzle cake but you wher still missed.
Thanks from me too John. I really enjoyed Saturday's walk - I really should have stayed and done all 3 days I feel - oh well next year then. I thought it was more than 16 miles! It was lovely seeing everyone, and also making new friends.
PePeregrinaThank you John and Alison, I really enjoyed my weekend! It was lovely meeting up with everyone, great bunch of people! Hope to see you all again!
SiSilvaI've only just discovered the forum, which could account for my difficulties meeting up on Friday!!!
sorry I missed all of you on Saturday but got very late getting there in the first place about 9.15am because I took the scenic route on the A272 rather than the M23. Got more lost trying to find the tea room so gave up in the end and went for a marathon walk from one end of the South Downs Way to the other over 8 hours from 10.30am to 18.30pm. Could hardly walk the next day and still feeling the effects of it today. I do live up to my name sometimes:~ I know that I screwed this one up but for some funny reason I don't know why I drove down the A3 vs the M23. My brain must have been on auto pilot to West Sussex rather than East Sussex? ☹
MNMadNadI would like to ditto the thank you John for leading such fabulous walking this weekend. I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome on my first OD weekend experience especially my room buddies! I had a great time. John your lovely poem says you won’t name and shame but Jane’s snap shot that did the rounds at the dinner table on Saturday night just might have given the game away not to mention uncontrollable laughter! Hope to see you all again soon!😀
on 15/05/13 @ 3:22As promised girlies - Elderflower Cordial: Makes about 750ml (I usually double up)
ElElderflower1 Lemon (Grate rind, slice fruit)
25g(1 oz) citric acid (really cheap to buy on line)
1kg sugar
12 Elderflower heads (should be in bloom everywhere really soon)
750ml boiling water
Put sugar in large bowl and pour on water. Stir to dissolve. Add all lemon, citric acid and flowers. Leave for 24 hours (covered with tea towel) stirring occasionally. Sieve through muslin (tights will do!), pour into clean screw top bottles. Keeps for 6 months. Great with fizzy water, sprig of mint and even a dash of vodka! Enjoy!x
Glad you all enjoyed, I certainly did. Thanks to you all for making it such a great weekend.🙂🙂
JWJWNoodles, if it's longer walks you want then you will just have to come back next year.🙂
