Do OD'ers hibernate?
by trekkieI have noticed that despite the many events posted there is nothing after 22nd November until the 12th April.
Does everybody go to the Costas on Saga holidays for the winter?

ah but then you would be invisible in your white winter coat Bunnie 🙂
trtrekkiehaha Trekkie, not all of us are old enough to benefit from Saga's offerings this Winter! Different story for me next Winter though..! 😀
SpSpringLike Bunnie, I'll be out and about in the Lakes area so I'll be posting some day walks over this way . I need wait for pooch to recover first 😉
I like winter walking too but tend to do more spur of the moment stuff in winter depending on weather 🙂
PDPear Drop (Sarah)love winter walking esp in the Peaks...will definitely be out in the snow, probably about 10 ft of the stuff if Buxtom was like last year.🙂
ADAlly & DaveLooks as though its only the chaps that have their house number painted on their backs and put in a box of hay under the stairs until spring then.🙂
trtrekkieI'm out & about on short walks locally all winter but dont travel so far with lees daylight hours 🙂
BJBlue JohnAfter Novemeber lots of people will have to balance weekends with work do's, xmas shopping and walking. Then in January/February they are recovering and cutting back because of the overspend! And as BJ says shorter daylight hours tend to make people do more local and shorter walks. Don't worry, I'm sure those dates will begin to fill up soon. Can hardly believe the year is almost over!!!
The Big Bash is yet to come Love🙂
FlForever lostI know. Getting a little anxious, a lot excited and can't wait to everyone's outfits! 😈😈
see by any chance 🙂
FlForever lost😈😈😈😈 told you I was excited!!! :~:~😈😋
I know Love its all to much for you first the car then the Bash mind your blood pressure 🙂
FlForever lost😀😈😈😈
Too many activities and not enough time off - may have to ask for unpaid leave. Climbing week in Portland end of this month, two weekends in lakes, walks and climbs in Snowdonia. Have 2-3 week Trek in Langtang region of Nepal in March, either side of that would like to join in climbs planned for Morrocco and Spain.
MMMadMagI look forward to my Winter walking in Lakeland in December.Wonderful frozen Grizedale Tarn last year that allowed me to walk a few metres accross. We males do not hibernate, but content to leave the talking to OD Ladies as it is inbuilt in their genes😋😀
lalandranger68Wow MM I'm tired just thinking about your activities!! 😀 I hour you manage to do Everything you want to!
so for all those who haven't got things planned... is there something you would like to do if someone
trtrekkieput a walk on?
Hoping to be back at the end of November to join in more OD walks in the meanwhile this little globetrotter is setting sail next weekend helping to deliver a 44 ft catamaran to the Caribbean!
glglobetrotterI hope you have a safe & enjoyable trip Globetrotter 🙂
BJBlue JohnTough work Globetrotter but somebody has to do it. Thanks for taking that burden off our shoulders.🙂
trtrekkieMore stuff tends to get cancelled or re-arranged around the weather in winter but it essentially remains out every weekend and the odd weekday evening (with lights of course!)
m miradorI wish i could join you Globetrotter🙂
BMBionic ManWow globetrotter, what a great experience for you . We'll have to put up with shortening days and dropping temperatures and look forward to the spring. Saying that, I'm well up for winter walking- looking forward to trying out my Katula micro spikes that UDC recommended. I'm putting ice axe and crampons on the Christmas list too, so bring on the snow and ice!!!😀
lilizziedI'll be hoping to get more use from my Yaktrax Extremes too 🙂
BJBlue JohnBefore the winter comes it might be worth finding out who is kitted up for walking in full winter conditions.... Definitely my favourite time.
trtrekkieHi Trekkie, I think there are a few of us happy to walk through the winter if the invites are on. Wasn't on here last winter so don't really know what the invites were like 🙂🙂
BGBustaGut (Grant)I love walking in winter but tend to wait and see what the weather is like. Not worried about the walking but can't risk getting stuck on the M6!
TCTCHi trekkie, winter is my favourite time of year and especially in the Lakes.. just thinking of those crisp alpine days with a lovely blanket of snow like we had last winter is making me want to go and dust off my crampons in anticipaction..happy days😀
MHMountain HeatherI will be doing some last minute walks or scrambles in Snowdonia but only go if reasonable weather forecast done to many in crap weather
wawanderer47I have to admit that the hills see more of me in winter than the rest of the year.
trtrekkieScotland tends to be favourite but North Wales ,Lakes, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales too.
I think the change into Autumn has got me thinking and looking forward to it.
