Derbyshire Dales walk - Take 2 on Sunday??
by Miss TOK,
I'm feeling quite bad about switching the day for the Derbyshire Dales walk from Sunday to Saturday, as I'm not a person who enjoys disappointing people or letting them down ☹
From the PM's I've received, I know a few of you were really looking forward to walking on Sunday and it seems a shame to me that you'll all miss out!
The local forecast remains the same on Sunday; Bright-ish first thing but then heavy rain and gusty winds sweeping in between 11am & 12noon (according to BBC and the Met Office).
So, here's the plan...
Being as this is my first invitation and being as I feel I've messed it up a bit, I would be more than willing to do the same walk again on Sunday (5th)a

I will gladly take whatever the weather throws at me, of course; Rain, wind, gales, hailstones, thunderbolts, lightning strikes etc etc 😀😀 I see it as a sort of self-punishment for....well, changing the day!
So, is anyone up for a swim on Sunday??🙂
I think i would rather start in rain (Sat) than finish in it (Sun), but then i'm just the new kid on the block.
on 03/01/14 @ 14:20Eminently sensible Miss Babs
TBThe Beer PoliceMiss T: Tracey no need to feel bad about anything. The walk can be done again and just enjoy Sunday with the ODs that can make it.
on 03/01/14 @ 16:40To me, anybody that puts an invite has my support even more so, if that person gives consideration to the enjoyment of others as you have done.
Saturday even. Sorry just had a beer:~
DeDekaThanks muchly for your replies and for making me feel better 🙂
MTMiss TDeka: Enjoy your beer and thank you 🙂
Miss T you must not feel bad about switching the day, this is OD no bad feelings allowed!! You have not messed up, the walk can be done at a future date, I look forward to it🙂 As for Sunday I have now got my leg of lamb defrosting in anticipation of an afternoon feast and to catch up on work that I've been putting off forever, so in a way you have done me a favour😀 see you soon🙂🙂Ta
RARuthieARuthieA: 😀 Thanks Ruth. Mmmm roast lamb! Beats a soggy wet walk any day 😋
MTMiss TRuthieA: I'll bring the mint sauce😉
DeDekaDeka: 😋😋
RARuthieAMiss T I do believe the credit should go to anyone who puts themselves forward to organise something for the benefit and enjoyment of other. So the change made good sense but unfortunately a couple were working Saturday so couldn't switch. Tommorow I will try to do the same circuit from Over haddon as it is easy to cut short if caught in a typhoon. Anyone wanting to test out their oil skins and comping at the bit are happy to tag along. I know this won't be the last walk as the area is so beautiful so a big thank you from me for organising it and taking so much time in contacting everyone.

Johnyg : Thanks John, you're very kind 🙂 It's typical that the forecast has changed (again), even from the one I looked at this morning! I think you'll stay dry for the most part, as it seems the rain might not arrive until later in the afternoon. The winds may pick up beforehand though.
MTMiss TReally hope you enjoy your walk 🙂
