I think we all have the missing sock experience in the washing machine. I think that it shows there are laws of nature in the universe that we haven't discovered yet. 25 years ago, Annie Nightingale on Radio 1 talked about it, and attributed the effect to Quantum Mechanics. Basically one sock is made of antimatter and annihilated the other, leaving two bits of fluff (corresponding to the neutrinos).
