Apart from not expecting the snow and being pulled running down an icy hill!!! I wasn't expecting to feel so at home and accepted with total strangers I now call loved friends 🙂 s

Mine was the Yorkshire 3 Peaks with 9 lovely people. June (?) 2012. First thoughts were what a lovely, welcoming group. What a great day out that was. Still here, still meeting lovely people and still having great days out.

TCTC   on 09/02/14 @ 15:40

Yes Steve, of course I remember eyeing you up in the car park in Keswick and wondering what you'd think I was playing at if it turned out you weren't an ODer!!! Goulash in the Dog and Gun was good though!
My first walk was a wonderful day with Topspot John on Kentmere Horseshoe, Oct 2012- not looked back since😀

lilizzied   on 09/02/14 @ 17:46

My first OD walk was a token appearance as I couldn't stay very long. I remember the Kentmere walk with lizzied though and I have been working on the fitness ever since!

My first walk was a 10 mile flat ish walk at Parbold, wondered what I was doing meeting a load of strangers, Jopo, TMIW, Brooky and about 7 others who were all and some still are the "core" of OD to me, they were all so pleasant and welcoming, I just said to myself at the end "what a friendly bunch, deffo coming out again" and like others have said, never looked back, and met lots of great people since.🙂😈

Oh dear🙂 My first walk was Rourkys Bash No 2.
Never stayed in a bunk house before it was -10 Deg C inside and one of the other guys snored like something out of Jurassic Park😮
The walk was fab up Pen U Fan, with ice crystals shinning in the sun, just like the hearts of the other OD members. Got back in the car on Sunday and thought like out of Butch Cassidy "who are those guys" 🙂
