Most definitely a post code too would help in addition to map references 🙂

I fully agree with all the above. Some events happen in some pretty obscure places, it's fun trying to find out where but time consuming 😉

I could not agree more with all the previous comments, but to take it further, why do people post invites when they have not even decided on a route ?

Philtheetiler: Lots of reasons I guess, sometimes route are dependent on weather conditions or level of interest from members, or level of ability of those who are interested in an area. Sometimes people may want to explore a new area and want advice and guidance from more experienced or more local walkers. Or may be in a particular area for other reasons and want a local to show them around while they are there....I've done some lovely walking on that basis! I don't think any of that is a problem as long as the invite is open and honest - but I agree that putting the county/area in is a really good idea even if postcode not decided on yet, the invites can always be updated later 🙂🙂

I enjoy living in Wiltshire but it means there are long distances involved to attend most of the walks posted. So to get me interested I need details that I can research. Any posted walks without this fail miserably and are not even considered.
I would prefer to post a walk in a familiar area that can be assessed by me, rather than choose somewhere unfamiliar and expect someone else to do the groundwork.

Hear, hear, Peppasmum! I'm afraid I just don't have time to Google the place names in every invitation that's posted. I'd like to discover new places and by definition I don't necessarily recognise the names of places I haven't been to yet...

Hear, hear, hear, Peppasmum and Haydn, this appears to have been forgotten again. Maybe Site Admin could add a requirement to name the county or region when an invite is posted.🙂

Don't forget to use the map page. When posting a walk a second screen asks you to "plot" it on a map. Members can then view the map (See menu) and click the "meet" box to see meet locations and details.
