Getting married or 'living in sin'?
by Former Site AdminA number of relationships have started as a result of this site, but what happens next?
Is marriage just for teenagers, or do the midlife crowd tie the knot too? 🤔
I haven't heard of any weddings so far. We had a baby a couple of years ago 🙂. (Who should have reached the embarrassing 'tantrum in the supermarket stage' by now!) 😮
Would you tie the knot if the right person came along? 😀

No, but I wouldn't mind sinning a bit 😋
PDPear Drop (Sarah)Neither for nor against marriage. The religious aspect has largely disappeared from many people's lives, follow nature I say.
MMMadMagsinning is the way forward😋😋😋
pApreggy47(Andy)Would love to get married one day to my lovely Dave.x
ADAlly & DaveAgree with you Andy..lol..!!! 🙂
JiJill18Ally & Dave (UltraDC): Ooh, you love birds. 🙂
Have you proposed yet Ally!????!!! Hope I'm invited to the wedding xx
TCTCLiving in sin never done me any harm, whats a bit of paper and a ring.If the relationship is meant to last then.... so be it 🙂
Having said that do I need to buy a hat Ally ????
TC and Tinks will give you plenty of notice re hat.Looking at comments think I must be a bit of a old romantic so glad I am x
ADAlly & DaveFar too young to get married again,😀 living in sin sounds good to me 🙂
MoMorningdawnOooh hurry up Dave, can't wait for a hat shopping invite 😀
Not good with the marriage thing.... Tried twice, but they both decided an affair was a good idea!!! Just didn't expect me to find out, even though one worked with my brother! 🤔🤔
MiMisty15hhIt's not marriage that's causes the problem, its just the wrong choice of person that you are with.Married or not, some relationships just don't work!
ADAlly & DaveThe "Tantrum in the supermarket" toddler (in the intro from Admin) reminds me of a true event which I witnessed in Church. We were all on our knees, and invited to spend a few minutes in silence for your own private prayers. A little boy of about 4 or 5, chose that moment to say in a loud voice for everyone to hear (as they do at that age) "Mummy, is that man going to stay all night again tonight?"
cocolinjosephthanks Colin ... love this Forum sometimes 🙂😋
CDCarpe Diem!Well you just never know???? I've never been married because I don't believe in divorce, but if the occasion arises with the right man......then it's worth taking a risk!!! I've met my partner on this site nearly a year ago and we've been dating for almost a year too!! "Never say never" is my motto 🙂😋
MNMadNadI'm up for living in sin, any offers 😋
BJBlue JohnWell said MadNad!
ADAlly & DaveI like Goodlife had a very close marriage for 24 years and died sixteen years ago of Cancer, also my only relationship.Better to marry out of love and respect, not just lust.
lalandranger68The thing is that life can be a real bitch at times!!! When you find the right one and it works, it doesn't last because of some kind of tragedy.
MNMadNadOn the flip side (like me), you think you might have found the right one in the past, and it turns out to be the totally wrong person for you who demolishes your heart, soul, mind and total being!!! Life can be so unbalanced at times.☹☹
My Mum & dad are celebrating 50 years of marriage soon.🙂 Yes, there were ups and downs but lovely 3 daughters kept them together. God bless them, their marriage is strong and soon Diamond Anniversary! 🙂
wawalklovemysonopenwater babe: Blimey that was a rough landing I should complain if I was you babe 🙂
FlForever lostTo wed or not to wed is not the question but how deep is your love?
Although a veritable institution, like everything else if you don't commit wholeheartedly then how can it possibly sustain forever? Live in the here and now with all your heart and 30 years will pass like the blink of an eye 😉😀 ?
I had been with my husband for 29 years when he died, but only married for the last 6. Still miss him everyday but life has to go on whether it's alone or with someone new.
MMMadMagI've realised that true love is not something that happens in an instant. When you meet someone who understands you in every sense with all your good and bad points, but still manages to take time to get to grips with it and vice versa. Love is something that you build as a couple which grows over time!!! It's amazin how different relationships become as you age and become wiser or not as the case may be 😉😋
MNMadNadThere's some deep stuff here, informed by life's realities. I am intrigued that there has been no weddings that anybody knows of so far, and happy that there are some strong growing and fulfilling relationships amongst you. 🙂🙂
So lets raise a glass to, as MadNad says, that "someone who understands you". 😀
Cheers guys!!🙂
MNMadNadGoodlife, we intended getting married once his decree nisi came through, but never got round to it until much later when we went to the register office with just one daughter and her booyfriend - I couldn't contemplate being at the centre of a large gathering!
MMMadMagMadMag: good job you waited if he only had the decree nisi !
PhPhiltheetilerWell said MadNad, and, while life presents chances to live, laugh and love - full your boots. 😀
ClClintonBoots are being filled all the time TonyB. 😋
