Christine 9421: The snow is concerning me at the moment for both Ben Nevis and Skye. If there's to much snow on the CMD route then this won't be happening 🤔
If anyone's got full winter gear for snow and wants to have ago at the CMD route then please do 🙂

My sister and hubby are on Skye now, Bro-in-law has txt to say there is snow at sea level and they can't tell where skye meets sky! ☹

Was hoping to do CMT route but weather dependent, so will go with the flow on this one. 🙂

Have looked at some of the Skye web cams today and looks like snow has now receded to just the hill tops.
As for Ben Nevis there's still a lot of snow on the north side.
Let's hope it thaws out a bit more before we all venture up there 🙂

Snow will not be a problem on Skye, but there was a lot of snow still on the CMD side of Ben Nevis when I drove past and I'm not sure how much of this will melt over the next 10 days or so. The tourist route side looked to be fairly free of troublesome snow.

With One week to go now till Ben Nevis I'll be keeping a watch full eye on the weather so please keep checking for updates.
There is more snow forecast for Ben Nevis upto Tuesday with temperatures down to -2C but in the biting wind down to -9C
This is not ideal for doing the CMD route at this moment so please keep watching for updates 🤔

Just had a message from my sister, as she came down Ben Nevis this afternoon, she was passed by 7 men dressed as chickens and a bloke with bare feet on their way up. Will keep an eye out for Mountain Rescue reports 😀

I'll be taking winter gear and will still be looking to do the CMD, obviously depending on weather conditions on the day. If anybody else is suitably equipped and up for the challenge they're welcome to join me. 🙂🙂

Weather for Ben Nevis is looking a bit more promising, as Thursday into Friday looks to be settling down 🙂
On the Ben Nevis web cam it's looking better also for the CMD route 🙂
