There is a good alternative for non four season boots. Kahtoola Microspikes around ?45.00. Used them for a while and ideal for Winter walking on snow & ice on the Fells, but not Mountaineering🙂

I've bought a pair of the kahtoolha KTS flexible steel crampons and they are ready for action. Last year I thought their microspikes were the 'bees knees' for hiking but they proved not good enough for ice on high fells ( I slipped and badly tore medial knee ligament) so will be using these KTS crampons on high fells this coming season. They work with 2/3 season boots %uD83D%uDE09

Sorry to hear that Sprite, but that has not happened to me,even when people were sliding past me,mostly navigating by the rear🙂

Must get my eyes tested, Thought it said Don't Buy Doggy Crampons,I thought why the hell would I buy crampons for my dogs, I had visuals of me trying to fit crampons onto my dogs little paws and her trying to walk . I then put my glasses on and it all made sense , which is more than I can say for me!
