Have read the book, great read, didn't know it have been made into a film it will be one on my to see list🙂 How is you Col

Yes have seen the film last week. I wasn't too impressed. The relationship between Bill Bryson and Katz wasn't the same as was portrayed in the book. And also my favourite part of the book, in the camping store when he was kitting himself out, which made me laugh out loud while I was reading on the train, was almost ignored. It was an ok movie, but nothing like as good as the book.

Well Col, saw the film this afternoon and have to agree with Peregrina. The book was much better although it was a ok film. see ya soon I hope got to have a catch up🙂

Haven't seen the film and tend not to when I have enjoyed a book. The film makers have to appeal to a wider public than officiandos (of hiking eg) and the humour can loose it's way. You reminded me of that scene in the store Peregrina - yep made me LOL too

I think I will just have to finish the book off as I cant find a place to go see it now.

I wasn't inspired to book a flight to the US to do the Appalachian Trail. Which is exactly what happened after I watched 'The Way' - a week later I'd booked my flight to do The Camino De Santiago. Ah the power of movies..... well some movies anyway 🙂🙂🙂
