Let's all stop and spare a thought for the poor unfortunate walker that died doing the Crib Goch Ridge walk on the same day ☹

BBBusy Boots   on 11/04/16 @ 11:03

Thanks Steve. A brilliant weekend.
Busy Boots: That's terrible news. I don't think any of us that did Crib Goch were aware of that.

DeDeka   on 11/04/16 @ 12:14

Many thanks Steve and to all for your company. 2 fantastic days. Love Barbara

bjbarbp-j   on 11/04/16 @ 12:46

Deka - yes it is, according to local news he had the accident at about 1100 on Saturday but the Llanberis mountain rescue weren't alerted until the rest of his party returned to base at 1300. ☹

BBBusy Boots   on 11/04/16 @ 13:55

Busy Boots: this news did not filter through to us at the YHA at all - we did not go back down to Pen y Pas, but down the other side of the mountain to Bryn Gwynant YHA, where there was no Wi Fi or phone signal. I think we must all be a bit shocked, or there would be more messages on this thread.

There but for the grace of god.... that poor young man. I guess all we can do if we are touched by this is make a donation to Mountain Rescue.

In gratitude for OD'ers safety, I want to thank Steve even more for organising a wonderful weekend, and to thank all the members of our group who stepped up to lead, guide and support. OD'ers, you rock 😀

SuSunny   on 11/04/16 @ 15:33

Just makes you realise how dangerous it is up there...and whilst we have lots of fun and giggles..care must always be taken ....Steve and Phil done such a good job with us on our way up Snowdon...and us ODers always stick together for help and support. My thought are with the family of the person who lost their life..x..

Thanks Steve for organising the weekend, even though I only did the walk it good to see that an enjoyable time was had on the Sunday. In the light of the tragedy that occurred unbeknown to us whilst we were on the mountain can I say thank-you to you and Phil for marshalling us safely up the Pyg and down the south path; by us less than experienced ones it is appreciated. Big thanks also to the ladies for making me smile (it%u2019s there I just need to let my face know). Linda and Debbie I owe you, mittens and heat packs will be in the kit in future!

Hey Steve, everyone has said it already but just wanted to thank you for all your hard work organising the weekend. I finally made it up Snowdon after 9 years of hill walking! Fantastic weekend all round.

As Jo says above, a reality check for us all re safety on the mountains.

SaSandy   on 15/04/16 @ 9:22

Thank you from me too Steve, for a great weekend, lovely walks and the delicious pub lunch 🙂I also felt shocked about the death of the young man at the same time we were there, very sad. So I would also like to thank everyone who made sure we got up and down the mountain safely.

ElElliewalker   on 15/04/16 @ 17:30
