Hi Roland,
Maybe it is due to a lack of hills, but Cannock Chase could be our best kept secret. I have posted on several occasions without any interest, but enjoy the walk alone. You walks are always interesting and always eager to share your knowledge, Just keep posting🙂

Hi Roland,I would love to get out on more local walks but work very often stops me from attending or the mileage is not worth the travel time in which case I would prefer to stay over and walk the next day. Hope this helps

Landranger68 the area south of Braunston is quite hilly but it is farmland rather than heath land. Bradgate park north of Leicester is quite good.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
I did a quick survey of local members of OD and was surprised to see that only 20% go on invites as far as I can tell. I do think that the 80% are missing out on the best part of OD.

Thanks for all the suggestions and views. I will try the walk near Braunston again some time. But I cannot please everyone.

I will be posting an invite for a 9 mile walk across Cannock Chase, just need to ensure it will be full of interest There is also two good campsites at Springslade Lodge on Cannock Chase and Pillaton Pemkridge, but beware of low flying Microlights.I maybe in one of them🙂

I was thinking of posting an invite for a walk from codsall to albrighton or cosford or Telford : taking in such things as white ladies priory and a house nearby called black ladies : thought this sounded intriguing. It's doable by train and would be a Saturday . Anyone interested? I was going to post it for a couple of weeks time but think I'll see who's interested and take it from there and post it with a bit more notice.

I would be interested in the walk by landranger68 and caderidris. My attendance will depend on the arrival of my first grandchild in September.

Hi Caderidris, Would be interested as i was Married in Albrighton Church hope the path has improved to White Ladies Priory🙂

Hi Roland, keep on posting, your Edge Hill walk will not be forgotten! 🙂
Caderidris , I%u2019d be interested in any of the South Staffs / Shropshire areas that you mentioned. White Ladies Priory is very close to Boscobel House, where King Charles hid in the Oak so you could enable me to view a historical site that is only 30minutes from where I live if you post that walk! Black Ladies Priory is also close by to White Ladies.

Yes I saw a tree marked on the map: love old trees and historical stuff: one of the things that make a walk good for me. How bout sat 12th November : plenty of time to put it in the diary?

cacaderidris   on 26/08/16 @ 14:24

Keep posting the walks Roland, will always come along if I can 🙂

BrBramble  on 01/09/16 @ 10:44
