Hi Mitch....thanks for this ...might be interested depending upon dates J

CDCarpe Diem!   on 06/01/17 @ 6:57

I am quite excited to see some comments to my " camping anybody" feeler

on 06/01/17 @ 20:17

Peppasmum you are absolutely right it would have been an ideal invitation to start my 2017 camping year but unfortunately it is when I am in the Isle of Man for the TT races. I want to do the Pennine way invitation also and I am rather hoping that at some point somebody will put something up for Whitby as that seems to be turning out to be a favourite weekend away with the OD group other than that I am as free as a bird to go whenever and wherever camping but I would just rather it be with my friends from the OD site sooner than doing it alone.

I do have to say at this point a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this posting and also to the people who took the time to read it as I honestly thought nobody would show the slightest interest when I was writing it on to the site. Thank you everybody.

Out Door Girl: I was in " Go Outdoors " and noticed small OEX Gas Stoves on offer for ?13 and thought that was a good buy at that price. Regards Phil

PhPhiltheetiler   on 08/01/17 @ 5:18

Ok well this is looking great now all I need are some pointers as to where and when and this could go from the forum to the invitations

MiMitch   on 08/01/17 @ 6:15

steveyboy: I usually put a ground sheet down then my tent groundsheet on top, stops condensation and hopefully any leaks and is an extra layer for warmth.

on 08/01/17 @ 15:52

Would love to visit Whitby Mitch, kept missing out on previous trips. Happy camping, have tent will travel, 🙂

MoMorningdawn  on 08/01/17 @ 15:55

Squibbles I would love to but I need some idea of dates and venues from everybody. It's oh so easy for me I can go anywhere and anytime but I am very aware that not everybody has that kind of freedom, wheels of industry and paying bills kind of thing

on 08/01/17 @ 20:27

Minty has got something going on down south so should we looking at the Peak District or somewhere coastal ? Morning dawn suggested taking a look through ukcampsite.co.uk so that could be starter but I am still open to all ideas.

on 08/01/17 @ 20:33

Or Yorkshire Dales or anywhere North, help me out here pleaseee

on 08/01/17 @ 20:48

Oh and campers favourable dates would be welcome

on 08/01/17 @ 20:49

But I ain't ruling out the South I said anywhere anytime.

on 08/01/17 @ 20:57

When I first thought about this it was and still is that the camping was the main thing I wanted to do. I wanted to leave it open if anybody wanted to go off walking or they just wanted to go to look at the local beauty spots or even if they just wanted to stay around the campsite. Help me out here I feel like I am sinking !!!

MiMitch   on 08/01/17 @ 21:03

Mitch: I think the most favourable place is one where you know the area. There are plenty of members that are spread all over the country that could put an invite on the OD site in an area familiar to them

PhPhiltheetiler   on 09/01/17 @ 18:55

Mitch, if you jolly campers should choose somewhere in the Peak District for a base, I'm sure you'd get a good few other members joining in on the walks too, even if they weren't camping.
I'd be there for the walks, that's for sure!🙂

MTMiss T   on 23/01/17 @ 13:53

Ok so this is starting to feel good, a week%u2019s camping in the Peak District maybe at Hope at the Pindale Outdoor Centre campsite a site I know personally very well and it near enough guarantees a walk on the Wednesday Wander with either or both Highpeakman and Miss T and a week in Norfolk at a camping site that Heathervalley is recommending. That would be just great, it would go very nicely with Minty%u2019s Dartmoor Invitation which can be made in to another week by going there a few days earlier. What would really top it off would be a week%u2019s camping in the Yorkshire Dales so any suggestions welcome.

on 24/01/17 @ 2:00

I am already going to Minty%u2019s Dartmoor Invitation followed by annual trip to the Isle of Man for the T.T. so that takes care of dates between May 22 till June 12 then all I have on my schedule for the rest of the year is the Pennine Way Invitation July 7 until July 28 and so that%u2019s it, so a lot of free time. So please any suggestions for dates are very welcome.

on 24/01/17 @ 2:04

I know I keep saying this but it%u2019s the camping that will be the main Invitation what people would want to do with their time camping is really up to them, we can do some walks or if anybody just wants to go off sightseeing or even if they just want to sit around reading a book it%u2019s up to the individual.

MiMitch   on 24/01/17 @ 2:05

All sounds good but as Mitch has said , more dates for the diary are required 😀

PhPhiltheetiler   on 24/01/17 @ 16:55

Hi I love camping too I don't mind if we meet up in the lake District or Scotland for some camping. I was in skye in May last year camping we had beautiful weather when doing the munros in Skye.

ChCheekychat   on 30/01/17 @ 15:41

I go camping 2 or 3 times each year to the yorkshire dales, use the camp site at Banbridge ings near Hawes as a base and then do walks out around from there. It's very central for the dales, lots of good local walks, short, medium or long distance, and also easy access to the lake district. Plus the campsite is just 10 minutes walk from 4 pubs in hawes town centre. First trip is planned for easter time and then june and September for the other trips

YoYorkie   on 07/02/17 @ 17:54

I wildcamp for about half of the year! Like Cheekychat mostly in Scotland/Isles/Cumbria. Plenty of spare gear and tips available for anybody who wants to camp but is unsure or gear light. There are some astounding places to pitch up out there. It helps if you know where to look and how to get there. Trust me wild camping doesnt mean "roughing it". Adventures await! Hope many of you get out there>🙂

liliveit   on 08/02/17 @ 9:07

Weekend invite posted (or longer if you want) is at the campsite Heathervalley mentioned. Norfolk is a county which should be explored, so much beauty there🙂

ThThea  on 09/02/17 @ 2:19

Yes me to Pebbles (Bea) although I am not as experienced at it as I would like to be hence the reason for this forum feeler.

on 09/02/17 @ 8:04

Although to be honest I haven't as yet put an actual invitation on the site myself because I can't get any interests in actual dates. I have emailed various people but sadly to no avail.

on 09/02/17 @ 8:07

I would loved to have got something going in the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales but at the moment I am just down for Mintys weekend and a weekend in Norfolk which is absolutely great and I am sincerely greatful to the people who put those invitations on the site.

on 09/02/17 @ 8:10

But I was hoping for a bit more but I guess maybe it wasn't to be. Heyho onwards and upwards.
